Bulletin Post: Money Just Ain't Enough

Since last week, visiting a particular site has been a routine for me. Of course, apart from this blog, nuffnang, Facebook and ebay. I just realized that this heavenly little website has been useful to me, especially people like me.

Okay, directly to the point, I won’t say that I am actually a shopaholic. I am absolutely not. Shopaholics buy almost everything they see or fancy. And they must at least purchase one thing when they go shopping. And shopping is of course like heaven to them. For me, I only get interested in shopping when there are sales!!!! And I don’t buy literally everything. Jewelries, never! Cosmetics, errrmmmm…. I have no education about it. Shoes, very very seldom. Only buy when I need a new pair. Clothes, I’m still controllable cause my taste sux and I’m very stingy on clothes. There’s why I have very little clothes, and some people may also think I’m poor cause I always wear the same things. Accessories, only buy them when I need them. But above all that, there’s only one category that attracts me the most. And that category happens to be BAGSSS!!! I don’t know why. It’s not like I need to use it all the time and something which I should change everyday like clothes or shoes. Can practically use A bag for the entire year or so. I don’t really like carrying bags, last time, but now, I am totally in love with them. I don’t know why, I’m a little nut. I’ll wanna buy them, but don’t even know when I will have the chance to use them. I don’t even have a place to stuff them.

And there’s another confession, I might not be a shopaholic, but I love brands, I love labels (branditis). And the biggest problem is, I am a poor kid. I don’t have the money to fulfill my bag collection dream. I watched bride wars last night, and I fell in love with Emma’s and Liv’s bag immediately. See, I am bag-obsessed. If I wanna buy a bag, I have to think twice, cause the money I saved up was initially for other things. And bags just stole them away. And I practically don’t even need them (bags).

And so, the particular site which I mentioned earlier was, maybe many of you already knew, which is THIS. It keeps us update with all the warehouse sales and promotions/sales happening in Klang Valley and Selangor. Another website I found it useful is THIS. This site includes food, electronics, beauty products, etc etc, see it yourself.

And so, one little advertisement from this site, which is gonna make me bankrupt soon is…

See, I kinda like the concept and design of Nine West. A little country I would say, and of course classy casual and sophisticated. And I totally hearts Burberry, LV and Chanel too. The other day, I saw on ebay, my dream bag from Chanel, my heart crushed. The medium size caused around RM 7k and the large size caused almost RM 11k even on ebay. I think I gotta wait for like 5 more years or so to collect that amount of money. By then, the bag won’t be available anymore. Sobs sobs.

Okay, so Nine West might be a little more affordable when there’s sales. Hopefully I get something but just one thing. And I always have my limitation and rules. Must be at least 50% and above, and the discounted price must be within my budget, which I can honestly tell you, very small. I still got other things to buy.

So my point here is, I’m a poor kid who is dying to buy branded stuff but just can’t afford them. Therefore promotions and warehouse sales are always the smarter choice, you know for people like me. The designs might have been so out and it might be a few years old or something. But to me, at least it’s authentic, usable, and preferably new and within budget, it’s a green light from me. I hope these two sites helped. Gotta do my report! Wish me luck in Nine West Sales.

Bulletin Post: I'm Still Here

I’ve not posted anything fort about a week now, but that doesn’t mean that I’m abandoning this blog. I do have a history of leaving things undone (many I would say), getting bored with some activities or stuffs that I had previously enjoyed doing very much and of course, give up on entirely everything that I was greatly enthusiast about. But me is me, pretty unpredictable. But since this is a blog, I can post almost anything, even just a word or two, I guess I should just keep this place so that I have somewhere to linger on. Then my words and thoughts won’t only be limited to MSN personal messages or post something on my FB wall. Now I have blog to turn to.

Okay, just wondering I should just stop by to give a little life to this dully blog-o-mine. It’s new, but not fancy or inspirational or anything. Just me with my little thoughts in my little dreamy world.

I should start off with a short series of misfortune that happened to me today. Maybe not all are bad luck, but it was not so good you know. First up, I was extremely late for class this morning. I swear I was awake before the alarm clock rang but I dozed off again, knowing that the alarm will wake me on time. But, God knows why I did not hear it. To be honest, I am wondering if I had heard the alarm rang for these two weeks. Ok, so I was late, bla bla bla… But I suppose I did not miss anything great, cause it was a new lecturer, and I can hardly understand her lectures. For God sake, how can you understand someone whose sentences are hanging all the time? I mean, there’s always a comma and never a full stop. Eg; Yesterday I went to the, And then I saw, He looked,. You got what I mean??

Okay, number two, I was so blur till I entered the wrong class, sat in it for a whole freaking hour and never knew that it was my tutorial slot until the last second. Mine was supposed to be 11 – 12 but I went to the 10 o’clock class instead thinking that it was already 11. Well, you can’t exactly blame me cause, the previous class should end at 10, I went and took something from the management office and it had taken up like for 15 minutes or so, buzzing around for Dr. Gulnaz’s number, eventually texted her at that moment and talking to June and Shing Yee. That should have taken for like another 20 minutes or so. But what I did not realize was, the stupid class which I was late for earlier in the morning, ended way before time. So I had my timing all wrong, went to the wrong tutorial class and had almost practically cursed MYSELF for taking other people’s spot. (cause the class was full, some even need to come back the next week to do their tutorial and I was wondering who’s that selfish pig who took up their spot. Shockingly, that selfish pig was ME!!! Holy! I had practically cursed myself! Shame on me)

Okay, lab went on quite smoothly, although we had to change experiment, but it was no big deal. That was because; I did not read the entire manual on that experiment yet. If I had read the procedures including the theory before the experiment, well yeah! I would have burst.

Lastly, it was dinner time. I wanted to eat the roast pork that I brought back from home the last weekend. I was wondering, if I don’t eat it soon, it might just turn into rocks in the fridge. So, I took it out, let it cool for a while, put it in a bowl which is microwaveable, put it in the microwave, on the switch, but the buttons won’t work. It always fails on me. I really don’t know why. The rest of the members in the house could push the buttons except me. I guess it must really hate me! Tried the stove, again it was a disappointment. But thank god, I had the super magic hands Chris to help me out, I had my roast pork! But I would highly encourage not to use microwave to heat up food which was roasted or maybe fried too. I prefer to use oven toaster or something but too bad I dun have one here.

Okay, so that was D-Day of many misfortunes. Erm, nothing else for I should be in bed right now. But I sacrificed some of my sleeping time to post something here. Just watched 3 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy of season 5. I’m a huge fan of this series, and I only realized that I’m already 2 seasons back. I didn’t watch any episodes last year. Although darling had the entire season 5 ready for me ever since end of last year but I just couldn’t remember to get it from him. I love Grey’s ever since season 1 and all the seasons after that. It’s bout surgeons and doctors and their *lives* you know. Besides surgery scenes and all, what I love best is that, every episode has a moral or a message that can be related to the episode. And yet, the episodes (story) are continuous. It never fails to educate me, brought tears to my eyes and put on a smile on my face. It’s one of my favorite dramas apart from Prison Break. Too bad I’m not a med student or things can turn pretty interesting. There’s so much to learn.

Okay, it’s getting long again, just an update. Shouldn’t be too long. So good night, sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite! Sweet dreams people.

Dead Poets Society

And so, I’ve managed to watch this movie after Mr. Ong introduced me to it. He said that since I’m so into poetry, I should watch more movies like that just like he watches all movies related to Maths.

When he told me about this movie, I looked it up online and tried to read the poetries which were featured in the movie. I even read on some quotes too. But I haven watched the movie yet at that time, so it kept me really puzzled and lost reading the quotes just like that. So I waited and waited till I come back here so I can watch it online!

And finally the time that I’ve been waiting for came. I finished the movie last night and it was around 2 hours or so. The first thought before watching, a poetry based movie, won’t it be boring then? But I knew Mr. Ong won’t like watching boring movies and he would not introduce me to it if it was not an excellent choice. Plus Robin Williams was the lead role and I thought this won’t be that bad! I love his movies. So I just kept all those thoughts away and watched.

All I gotta say, it was a real good movie. It was not just about poetry. There were meanings behind those poems. And Mr. Keating (Robin Williams) he just knew what was the best thing to do! I love his teaching methods and really do hope there are more teachers like him. Well, I have already met one! Mr. Ong and I wonder if he had used any of the moves from that movie in his classes.

{Taken from the script:

Keating slams his hand down on an imaginary buzzer.
Mr. Keating: Thank you for playing anyway. }

Well well I thought I heard that from somewhere in Maths classes. Did you Mr Ong?

Ok, back to the topic. The movie is set in the 50’s in an all boys’ prep school, where education and discipline was crucial for the students’ parents. They all had set careers and futures for their kids and made sure that they get the best out of everything. So, there were pressure set on the kids, no freedom at all but some kids just got by it, just like that, like Charlie. Not Neil, another main role, his father would want him to do everything his way.

So, the environment of the school was very …erm… strict, disciplined, prestigious … all teachers are serious in their teaching and very formal and expect all students to do the same. Till Mr. Keating came into the boys’ lives one day and changed them. They had classes outdoors, ripping off pages of the textbook which he thinks its restricting our creativities, stood on the table and etc etc.

That’s not quite my main point here. It’s the message of the story I suppose. Bout Carpe diem which means seize the day based on the poem To The Virgin’s, To Make Much of Time.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying:And this same flower that smiles to-dayTo-morrow will be dying.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, here means seize the day. Knowing that getting old is still a long way to go but note that, we will all die one day. So, Carpe Diem.
Mr. Keating had showed them to grab their hopes and dreams while you still can, break the rules if you have to but, just don’t go too far deep till there’s no way back. If you never do the things that you love soon, only God knows when you will.

Hence, many of the kids were some sort inspired, though they were not directly thought to spread their wings, but you know, it just hit them. They did the things they wanted to. Neil was interested in acting so he took part in a play, got the lead and he was really good. But daddy wouldn’t let him ruin his future by being a small little character on stage. So he told him that he would withdraw him from Welton and enroll him to a military school and then to Harvard to study med. So that was a hell of another ten years for him. And he did something really horrible the same night, which I did not expect it to happen in this show. But yes, it did, he shot himself to dead. See parents, this is what happens when you control your kids too much. Some turns out good, some gone bad and some… like Neil… dies. I don’t have much a say in here, I’m not a mom, or a guardian, counselor, what so ever. And I certainly do not want to kill lives with my words or having people chasing after me after this post is up.

But as an average, ordinary kid, we do need to loosen up sometimes. Although I still know what’s good for me. I know what’s real n what’s imaginary. Like a quote in the movie which caught my attention:
We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

Okay, and so interpreted it this way ………….>

I stay alive for POETRY, LOVE..

To stay a live, I need ENGINEERING. .

SO if I have engineering I have poetry and love.

Logical or not?

This is gonna get longer if I don’t stop here, so I’ll just stop here. And some links for you, those of you who interested in this movie. And oh, wonder why it’s called dead poets society? It was a society that Mr. Keating was in when he was schooling at Welton. Further details, just watched it lar.. I’m so interested to wanna know every word and every quote that Mr. Keating said in the movie. So I wanna go read the script d. Bye!

Watch Dead Poets Society on Youtube

Forrest Gump

I watched Forrest Gump just now. Yes, I haven watched it before though I've heard of it like a zillion times. And so I finally watched it. It was a really nice story. Though i might not entirely understand the story(plus the accent), but i could feel that it touched my heart and left me with teary eyes. For those that haven't watched, try watching it. You won't get much of these movies nowadays.

Apart from that, something that i discovered made me wanna write this post.

Okay, Okay... I was watching the movie.... and i realised it when the part where Forrest met his War Buddy in the bus.. which his name was very long, but he just called himself Bubba.. And all the time when he was in the movie, he just talked about shrimps.

So, i tried to put everything together......

Bubba + Forrest Gump + Jenny keeps saying Run Forrest Run + Shrimps

Oh, hold on. That really makes sense. . . Won't it be???

Bubba Gump, the shrimp and seafood restaurant??? I haven tried it yet but i will soon. Gonna buy darling a dinner there. I promised d, so I can't say no.

I quickly googled for it, and worry no more! It had been confirmed. The restaurant was open upon inspired by the movie, Forrest Gump. Wow! Okay, now at least I know a little history of it before i step into the restaurant. . . Hee... Enjoy this ... It's the theme song i loved it so much.

Bulletin Post: The Cleaning is Finally Done!

Phew!!! I've been cleaning since 3 in the afternoon and I had just officially called it a day (10.30pm)! Had cleared off the space under my bed but there are still some books and recent notes left! Whee... more space to stuff all my things in there!

Had also cleared my closet and rearrange the clothes neatly to prepare for the new semester. It's always neat and tidy at the beginning of the sem but when it comes to the end... Whoa!!! "luan chi pa chao de" which means messy. *Sorry for my banana mandrin*

While I was sorting and discarding my old notes... I had collected alot of these rings

Bulletin Post: Back To Uni Life

Ok, so I'm back in kl. Got massive cleaning to do and really gotta discard as much notes as I possibly can. Some are even as old as foundation notes which are like 3 years ago. Ha ha, you’ll never know when the next time you need it is. I’m still gonna keep the nightmare Maths 2 notes. Well, that shows that I might repeat that bloody subject even though I passed. But it just ain’t enough, gonna aim it. That hell of a paper had pulled down my CGPA damn low. And yes, Mr. Ong if you’re reading this, do tell me which sem you gonna teach Maths 2 so I can sneak into your class. Thank you!

So yeah! Lotsa stuff to do in this tiny little room. And there’s just not much time left plus I got a HUGE report to be accomplished. Well its actually all done with the report, I just need to final edit and follow the system that they have provided. So many things to follow. Wanna insert a picture must skip how many lines, must indent how many inch. Gosh!! Not free ler like tat! Anyway I think I kinda close to the finale, already and means there’s one less thing to do. Thankfully! Gotta get it bind tomorrow. And oh, just found out there’s boring briefing for lab tomorrow at 1. Sigh! Thought that I could go to school later since class was at 4 and ends at freaking 7! Gosh two days which end so late in a week this sem. Cham lo!! But what to do its lecture can’t change time.

Neways, got back last night and this morning went to tapau my so-long-never-eat pork ball noodles, one of my favs here.

Maybe it’s cause so long that I din’t eat, kinda feel weird with the taste. But always love the pork ball and the sausage! Wheee!!

Ok enough already! Loads of things to be done by today and gotta start now!! *Puff*
